Our mission is to provide travelers with an opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun.
Community is a huge pillar of Estrella Travel Company. This is why with each trip we are supporting local businesses, activities, and people, while also encouraging our travelers to connect with their group, surroundings, and themselves.

Lucy Small
Founder
Lucy is the proud founder of Estrella Travel Company and The Luzita Fund, as well as the enthusiastic jack of all trades when it comes to creating itineraries, organizing activities, and joining you at onsite as a leader and support.
Her first trip to Iquitos was in 2015 during her senior year of high school. Thanks to some sort of gut feeling, she has been going back ever since.
During the summers of 2017 and 2018, she worked at Explorama Lodges where she fell in love with working with the travelers and guides. The lodges became like a second home, and the staff like her second family. Since then, she has also visited Iquitos twice just for fun and traveled solo through Peru for 2 months in 2021.
More recently, Lucy visited Medellin and stayed at Cannua Lodge where she felt a sense of peace and inspiration that she just knew meant she had to share.
In addition to Peru and Colombia, Lucy has backpacked and visited friends throughout Europe and adventured solo through Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Cuba.
Lucy has worked in the education field for almost ten years, working with students from pre-k all the way to college. She currently works at Georgetown University managing their summer high school programming, is a fellow for UC Berkeley Greater Good Science Center’s Bridging Differences Learning Fellowship, is a club volleyball coach, and is completing her Children’s Yoga Certification.
